Structure of the Department

1. Capital Expenditure Division
2. Recurrent Expenditure Division
3. Budget Division
4. Payment and Reporting Division
5. General purpose financial statements are generated to show what has transpired in one year.

Mandate

1. Advising the Executive Secretary (the Accounting Officer) and other Departmental Heads on financial matters.
2. Advising on legislative, regulatory and other financial requirements of the Federal Executive Council and Central Agencies e.g. Federal Audit Department.
3. Management and disbursement of the National Senior Secondary Education commission fund to SSEBs and other beneficiaries as directed by the Executive Secretary.
4. Establishing the accounting system with appropriate in-built controls as approved by the Accountant General of the Federation.
5. Managing all funds and public monies due and receivable in the Commission.
6. Advising the Accounting Officer on Audit and Public Accounts Committees’ Queries.
7. Handling the preparation of the Commission’s Budget monitoring and rendering performance reports on the budget.
8. Performing any other functions as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary of the Commission.
